Breast Lift 16
Back To Procedure
Description:
Mastopexy (breast lift) is an operation whereby the skin envelope of the breast is tightened and the nipple is moved to a higher level. It is very similar to a breast reduction but less tissue (usually just skin) is removed. The final scar passes round the nipple and a vertical extension links this with the inframammary fold. This is the ‘lollipop’ scar. The older ‘anchor’ scar is still occasionally seen. Here there is an additional transverse scar in the inframammary fold. This 35-year-old black female had a vertical mastopexy with a lollipop scar.
