Abdominoplasty 7

A typical aesthetic abdominoplasty in a young mother with a persistent lower abdominal bulge. Fatty accumulation exacerbates a protrusion of the lower abdomen due to diastasis (spreading apart) of the rectus (six-pack) muscles. This commonly, but not always, results from childbirth. The lower abdominal skin and fat are removed and the rectus muscles sutured together. The skin is then undermined and closed resulting is significant tightening since much of it has been removed. The incisions are designed to lie in the strap marks of the bikini, which is rolled down to show its appearance at 6 months. By 2 years it will have become pale.
